Welcome

As an EMDR Certified therapist, I specialize in helping adults process both complex and single event trauma. I also work with folks struggling with depression & anxiety, unhealthy boundaries, and general life transitions.

As a co-parenting mediator, I offer trauma informed and neutral guidance in helping two parties reach agreement on customized parenting care plans.

Personality, experience, and skill set varies among providers, so finding the right fit for you and your needs is essential. I'm happy to schedule a free phone consultation to make sure I offer the help you're looking for and answer your questions.

About My Practice

My job as a therapist is to ask questions and make observations designed to help you examine your thoughts, feelings, behavior, and core beliefs. When we increase our self-awareness and better understand how our past influences our present, we can make positive and meaningful change. For general therapy clients, my approach is trauma informed and through the lens of attachment and cognitive behavioral theories.

While there are several evidence-based treatment options for trauma, I have chosen to use EMDR in my practice. If you are considering this therapy, I recommend Korn & Baldwin’s book Every Memory Deserves Respect: EMDR, the Proven Trauma Therapy with the Power to Heal.

I am dedicated to treating traumatic injuries of any kind, with a special interest in helping folks heal from intimate partner abuse and the impact of high control religion.

Of note: I consider myself a secular professional. While I welcome clients of any (or no) faith, my practice is not based on religious doctrine.

Mediation is a confidential, informal, and more customized way for two parties to negotiate a shared parenting agreement. As a neutral guide in the process, a mediator upholds the confidence that each parent’s priority is the best interest of their children~not winning or punishing the other parent.

Parenting is challenging, even under the best circumstances. But chronic conflict between parents is harmful to children and can lead to mental health concerns and/or acting out behavior. Parents’ choices during this stressful time can minimize the emotional toll on their children or inflame it. The more civil and collaborative co-parents can be, the better for the well-being of their children.

Mediation takes place with both parties, either jointly or separately. Most cases can be resolved in 3-5 hours, but every case is unique.  At the end of the session, each party is provided a copy of their agreement.

Note: To remain ethical and preserve neutrality, I cannot provide mediation services to current therapy clients. Nor can I provide mediation services to former therapy clients treated by me within two years of desired date of mediation services.

About Me

I was born and raised in Little Rock, but I've called NWA home since 2013. My two kids are grown and out there doing life. I love reading, all kinds of music, documentaries, flea markets, and good food.

Throughout my career, I've worked in various settings, including inpatient, residential treatment, community mental health, and employee assistance. This has included roles as program director, therapist, crisis interventionist, and field instructor for MSW students. I started my private practice in 2020.

My therapy/mediation "style" is basically my personality in and out of the office. I consider myself warm but direct. I might swear a little, and I definitely appreciate humor.
